Celiac Awarness Project (CSA-CAP)™

$80,000 is needed to provide 2,000 physicians and medical students with CAP materials.

Challenge: Celiac disease affects nearly 3 million Americans (~1%). ~2.5 million of them are undiagnosed and suffer needlessly. The cost to society for every year that a celiac remains undiagnosed is estimated to be $14,000 per year per celiac. A delay in diagnosis increases the risk of acquiring additional autoimmune conditions.

Solution: CSA-CAP.

CSA-CAP's goal is to improve the diagnosis of celiac disease.

CSA-CAP is a partnership of CSA members, donors, chapters and physicians to improve individual patient health care. By providing information to physicians and medical students, communication increases between the medical community and patients. Increased communication leads to increased public awareness and increased suspicion necessary for diagnosing for celiac disease. Early diagnosis and treatment of celiac disease lead to successful patient outcomes.
