To help raise awareness, Phoenix local Anna Van Hoek whose seven year old daughter has celiac has teamed up with Affiliated American Celiac Sprue Foundation to host Arizona's first Celiac Disease Golf Tournament at Gainey Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale. Sponsors of the tournament include Casino Arizona, TelTech Networks, Pineapple Equipment, Omission Beer, Desert Shores Pediatrics, FSW Funding, Fit Logistix, Clarity Workshop Architects, Country Financial, Swing Orthopedic and Chelsea's Kitchen.

It is imperative that we continue to raise awareness, help fund research, and continue to share information with the public regarding this illness that is taking an average of 6-10 years to be diagnosed. One out of every 133 Americans has celiac disease, equivalent to nearly 1% of the U.S. population. However, 95% of people with celiac disease remain undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. This means that up to three million Americans have celiac disease and only about 200,000 know they have the condition.

About the Affiliated American Celiac Sprue Foundation (AACSA)
